One of the most confusing parts of medical marijuana for our patients in Oklahoma is the difference in the types of marijuana strains, their medical usages, and which is best for their health needs. Apart from the medical marijuana plan of action that we help custom tailor for you based on your needs when you come in for your appointment, our marijuana strain guide for medicinal uses helps our patients to better understand the various strains and what they can do for you.
Sativa strains are great for the patient on-the-go. Sativa is known for the energy that it can help provide and the uplifting, happy feelings that it helps to elicit from your endocannabinoid system. One of the main reasons for this is that, in general, Sativa plants have higher levels of THC and lower levels of CBD. Sativa plants can be identified by their tall stature and thin, narrow leaves. Their leaves have also been known to be a lighter shade of green than Indica and Hybrid strains.
We recommend Sativa strains for daytime use.
Indica strains are perfect for the patients looking for help unwinding, relaxing, and getting the rest that they need. Indica is known for the calm and relaxed feelings that it helps elicit from your bodies endocannabinoid system. Indica plants tend to have higher levels of CBD and lower levels of THC. Indica plants can be identified by their short, bushy appearance and wide leaves.
Hybrid strains are specific blends of Indica and Sativa to create a middleground experience. While Indica and Sativa strains each have their areas of benefits with some, but not total, overlap, Hybrid strains provide a balance that creates strains with an even better ability to help with specific issues. Most hybrids will be labeled as "sativa-dominant" or "indica-dominant" to reflect that they have a higher percentage of Sativa or Indica qualities. Generally, higher Sativa blends have increased THC and higher Indica blends have increased CBD.
We recommend Hybrid strains for safe usage depending on the blend.
